Job Description

Canton's Mindful Gardens provides seasonal garden and lawn maintenance services for residential and commercial clients in the Ottawa West and Centre area.

We are seeking an entry level employee who is passionate about plants, working outdoors in a team environment and providing excellent customer service.

Ideal candidate would be interested in becoming an Horticulture Technician Apprentice.

What we do on a regular basis:

  • communicate politely, professionally, effectively with clients, staff andsuppliers/partners.
  • Weeding, cultivating, edging, pruning, deadheading.
  • Planting: Perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, bulbs.
  • Soil amending, mulching, spring and fall cleanups.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather.
  • Weekly lawn cutting and trimming.

Required:

  • Plant knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and quality conscious.
  • Be physically strong (lift min. 50 lbs) and a quick learner.
  • Class G license with a clean abstract and independent transportation.
  • Knowledge of landscape products, power and hand tools would be beneficial.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma,, Postgraduate Education,

Skills & Professional Training

Driver's License - G, Clean Driving Record, WHMIS

Responsibilities:

  • Canton's Mindful Gardens provides seasonal garden and lawn maintenance services for residential and commercial clients in the Ottawa West and Centre area.
  • Maintain residential and commercial properties to CNLA standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills required to run the worksite efficiently.
  • Prioritize Workplace Safety.
  • Manage/organize job sites: crew, safety, equipment and materials.
  • Communicate with management on job status, change orders.
  • Supervision of crew members, including training.
  • Daily submission of timesheets and job-related documentation including receipts, work orders, and change orders.
  • Participate in the the building of a company culture that is compassionate, respectful, inclusive, and motivated to provide the highest level of service and, to internal and external clients.

Job Type: Full-time Seasonal. Wages: to be confirmed on experience, starting at $22.00/hr..
