Horticulturist and Tree Planting Lead Hand

We work on some of the most prestigious Landscapes in the GTA and are noted for installing some of the most mature and spectacular gardens in the city. We have the most up to date equipment that include crane trucks, spider cranes, a multitude of excavators, telescopic loaders, mechanical wheelbarrows etc to maximize efficiencies on each one of our projects. Our Nursery, also sells the Specimen Trees and Plants to dozens of Landscape Contractors in the GTA

· Experience in high end residential Landscapes an asset

· High level of horticultural knowledge is an asset

· Experience in planting / handling large mature trees in wire baskets is an asset

· Able to supervise and participate in planting projects

· Able to operate all types of machinery including crane tucks, spider cranes, mini excavators and telescopic loaders

· Experience in all aspects of planting / pruning

· Attention to detail is required

· Able to lead a planting crew

· Drivers license with clean abstract

· Wage: To be determined based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Duties:

Supervise and lead a team of landscape maintenance workers in daily tasks.

Plan and execute irrigation schedules to ensure optimal plant health.

Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various landscaping projects.

Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Collaborate with management to develop project timelines and allocate resources efficiently.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in landscape and large tree planting

Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and techniques.

Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Good communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
