We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our planting crew team during the on-going planting seasons from spring through fall. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tree planting and/or the landscape industry, excellent leadership skills and experience operating equipment related to tree planting. A valid A/Z driver's license is required. Continued education and advancement are available to those demonstrating ability, interest, and commitment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of a tree planting crew on a daily basis.

• Coordinate planting schedule with Operations, Nursery and Sales managers.

• Organize daily planting orders and ensure proper loading onto Plant Crew trucks.

• Driver responsibilities; safely drive and operate crane truck with float.

• Operator Responsibilities; operate excavation equipment in the installation of trees.

• Ensure that tree planting is conducted efficiently and according to established standards.

• Train and mentor crew members on proper tree planting techniques.

• Monitor crew productivity and quality of work on site.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies and municipal guidelines.

• Maintain accurate records of work, completing daily reports and submit required paper work to the office.

• Communicate effectively with crew members, company management, and clients.

Requirements:

• Experience in a leadership role.

• Basic knowledge of tree planting techniques and best practices.

• Ability to operate and maintain equipment.

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks.

• Valid A/Z driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to adapt and be flexible within the work environment.

Recommendations for a Successful Applicant:

• Proven experience planting trees or similar tasks in the landscape industry.

• Extensive knowledge of tree planting techniques and best practices.

• Advanced equipment knowledge and operation experience.

• Diploma or certificate in horticulture or related industry.

• Advanced knowledge in operating and maintaining commercial trucks.

• Knowledge of trees and plant material.
