Job Description
The Supervisor’s role is to provide supervision and leadership to crew members in order to maintain and elevate clients properties to the highest of standards while ensuring all Health and Safety regulations, Company policies and procedures are being followed.
Worksites are on residential properties in central Toronto.
Yard location is in Etobicoke (near 401) for start and end of work day.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma,, College/Technical Training or Trades Certificate,
Skills & Professional Training
Driver's License - G
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Supervisory role at a landscape maintenance company.
Trade Certificate for Horticulture or Landscape Technician (or relevant experience)
Up to date first aid training
Class G or G2 Drivers license with clean abstract
Skills and knowledge:
Proficient in writing and reading in English with great communication skills.
Able to perform all manual duties required in professional garden maintenance and horticulture including planting, renovation, seasonal containers and pruning.
Able to safely and expertly use all hand and gas-powered tools needed in professional garden maintenance.
Ability to give instruction to crew members and engage them to accomplish tasks in an efficient and organized way.
Excellent knowledge of plant names, habit & culture.
Compensation
$28 to $35/hour
Extended Health and Dental Benefits as well as Group RRSP/DPSP after one year of employment. Overtime pay beyond 88 hours per bi-weekly pay period. Always display a professional attitude towards clients and co-workers.
Is aware of and shows attention to customers needs and requests such as time limitations, leaf bag use, special/extra visit requests and religious holidays.
Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and handed in on time.
Respect company property and equipment and ensure all tools and supplies are accounted for at the end of each workday.
Ensure all tools, equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and ensure replacements and repairs are dealt with in a timely manner.
Document and report any concerns with staff or clients to management.
Physical demands
Ability to work long hours. The average day ends at 5pm at the shop.
Ability to work in outdoor environments in a diverse assortment of weather conditions i.e. wet, cold, hot etc. and motivate staff to do the same.
Have the physical ability and strength to perform all duties common to the grounds maintenance industry i.e. lifting, bending, repetitive tasks, digging etc.
