The Position
The Horticulture Foreman’s role is to lead, organize, and delegate the tasks required to complete landscape maintenance projects. You should be proficient with pruners, line trimmers, hand tools, as well as rakes, cultivators, and other hand tools in order to maintain our customers' beautiful landscapes. The company’s reputation of efficiency and quality will be reflected by how your crew operates.
Responsibilities
You are a critical part of making sure we complete our jobs on budget and on time. The work that your crew undertakes on a daily basis will be a key to ensuring that Vane Lawn and Garden is consistently providing world class landscape solutions to our customers. You will be responsible for the following accountabilities:
Lead the gardening team with a focus on being on time and on schedule
Maintain and care for vehicles and machinery
Report the progress of each job, including your supervisor
Track hours
Ensure safe practices are consistently followed on site
Participate in other hands-on and leadership duties as required by the company
Position Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following:
At least 2 to 3 years' experience in landscape maintenance with recent experience leading maintenance crews
You are able to motivate your team using positive and empowering techniques
Landscape industry certification is an asset but not mandatory for this position
A valid Driver License in good standing
Ability to drive a pick-up truck and pull a trailer is a definite asset

Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma,
Skills & Professional Training
WHMIS, First AID
Level 5 Driver's License Required (BC) or equivalant.
WHMIS & First Aid Preferred but NOT required for the right individual, training would be provided at company cost.
Horticulture training for pruning, Plant ID bonus.

$24 to $30/hour
