Landscape Designer

Residential Landscape Designer We are seeking a landscape designer to join our team and contribute to our outstanding reputation of creating award-winning designs. Candidates must be creative and a team player with excellent work ethic. As well as having our own design studio, we have been asked to work for many top landscape designers and architects giving us the unique opportunity to work on some very exciting and diverse projects. Responsibilities and duties: •Prepare sketches and create designs through Dynascape (CAD), Sketchup, as well as 3D images if required. •Prepare necessary contracts or tender documents for clients. •Create estimates and budgets for clients. •Maintain regular contact with clients, landscaping crews, and office staff. •Possess excellent communication skills. The candidate will be required to submit regular updates on job progress and changes, and work closely with the company management team. •Time management – candidate must be able to effectively manage his/her own schedule and calendar for client meetings, regular office visits, and job site visits during construction. •Capable of tying existing landscape work to a new design. •Knowledge of horticulture and a strong understanding of the plants suitable for the Ottawa region. •Knowledge of plant care such as pruning, diseases, watering habits, etc. •Ambitious self-starter, eager to research new topics and improve knowledge of plants, design styles, etc. •Must have an extreme eye for detail, reviewing plans and any subsequent changes, and any necessary documents required for individual jobs.
