Job Description
The Fine Gardening Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the horticultural health of all gardens on the property, that maintenance visits are performed in the required hours and all gardens are growing in health, not just maintaining the current state. Fine gardening Team Leaders are also required to manage and coach their crews, coordinating all aspects of the property management and developing their team’s skills.
Responsibilities:
Reviewing and coordinating upcoming properties to be maintained and developing the most efficient schedule to complete services.
Instruct and supervise in the maintenance of landscape management projects.
Thorough knowledge of plant health and care of shrubs, grasses, perennials, trees and other plant materials. Experience in fine gardening and horticulture.
Experience in soil and mulch installation
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance to specifications and Wentworth standards.
Ensure employees comply with health and safety policies, including wearing of appropriate PPE and following Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Ordering of jobsite materials, monitor all tools, equipment and machinery on jobsite
Responsible for daily communication to garden property managers, supervisors, clients and team.
Train new employees and provide ongoing training
Act as a professional representative of the company for client questions and concerns
Requirements:
2 years experience in horticulture techniques.
Diploma in Horticulture, Certification or training from an accredited institution is an asset
Diploma in Horticulture or related field an asset
A valid G drivers license is mandatory
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Work with minimal supervision and possesses the ability to motivate others
Attention to detail, great record keeping, excellent time management skills
Manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines
Problem-solving and able to come up with a new plan on short notice
Ability to lift heavy loads and work in difficult weather conditions

$23 to $28/hour
