Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Lead Hand to join our growing team in the Niagara Region. The ideal candidate will oversee on-site operations, ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, technical skills in landscape construction, and a commitment to teamwork. This is not a general labour or entry-level role. You will be responsible for leading daily operations on residential and/or commercial landscape construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise a crew on landscape construction sites • Read plans and execute projects accurately and efficiently • Perform and oversee hardscape and landscape construction tasks, including: Grading and site preparation Installation of interlock pavers, retaining walls, patios, walkways, and other hardscape features Planting trees, shrubs, and sod; garden bed preparation Installation of low-voltage lighting, water features, and drainage Operation and maintenance of equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and compactors • Ensure job sites are organized, clean, and safe • Communicate clearly with management, crew members, and clients when needed • Maintain productivity and quality standards • Monitor project progress, track hours and materials, and assist with change orders or additional work as needed What We Offer: • Competitive wages based on experience • Opportunity for growth and advancement in a supportive team environment • Quality tools and equipment and organized job sites • Potential for year-round employment for the right candidate

Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma,
Skills & Professional Training
Driver's License - G, Clean Driving Record
• 3+ years in landscape construction • Previous foreman or lead hand experience preferred • Proven skills in hardscaping (interlock, stonework, retaining walls) and softscaping (planting, grading) • Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and blueprints • Valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean driving abstract (DZ/AZ license an asset) • Experience operating heavy equipment • Strong knowledge of materials, tools, plants, and best practices in the Ontario landscape industry • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills • Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual labour, including lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly • Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
