Qualifications and Skills - a valid G2 or G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (required) - a minimum of 1 year of related job experience (preferred) - experience using line trimmers, blowers, mowers, hedge trimmers and related small engine equipment (preferred) - willingness to learn and work as part of a team - love of gardening and of getting your hands dirty - knowledge of plants & plant care practices - eagerness to jump into new situations and learn quickly - excellent time management and prioritization to get the job done What’s the Job? Landscape Gardeners work on our fast-paced garden team, offering a wide range of services from routine garden care, to cleanups and restoration, to garden layout, planting and design. We service residential properties throughout midtown Toronto. As a landscape gardener with Gardenzilla, you will be responsible for: - working 40-45 hours per week, beginning between 6:30 and 7 a.m. and ending between 3 and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (no weekends) - maintaining a regular, tight route of urban gardens on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis - weeding, edging, pruning & hedging to help keep gardens looking spiffy - planting & transplanting by client request - topping up soil, compost & mulch by client request - performing one-time property cleanups, hedge touch-ups, tree removals, bulb plantings and more - talking to clients, identifying plants and answering questions - above all, helping busy Torontonians get excited about their gardens!
