Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow within our organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in construction estimating while working on a variety of projects.
The ideal candidate is required to have experience in estimating and possess relevant College/University Diploma or comparable. This estimator role is to analyze costs and prepare estimates for specific construction projects as an employee within Westgate Landworks Inc.

Qualifications
• At least 2 years of related experience is required
• A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, architecture, or a similar field is required
• Productive time management, organizational skills
• Able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Works well independently and as part of the project management team
• Ability to work on multiple assignments and projects at once
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of software tools related to computer-aided design and drafting, construction estimation and takeoffs
• Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of on site order of construction & industry standards
• Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects
• Knowledge of the latest building codes
• Close attention to detail
• Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
Responsibilities:
• Perform project-specific quantity takeoffs for materials, labour and equipment
• Works closely with Senior Estimator and General Manager
• Obtain vendor, supplier and subcontractor pricing per project specifications and generate estimates
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings
• Prepare cost analysis by capturing all material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs required
• Follow up on all proposals or bid forms as required
• Organize, plan and complete estimating work independently
• Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info
• Participate in field visits and pre-tender meetings, working closely with site developers, architects and other professionals whenever necessary
• Schedules meetings with clients and site managers as needed
• Monitors construction processes and reports to General Manager
• Navigates and understands building codes
• Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction
Expectations:
• Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, drawings and specifications
• Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations
• Establish and maintain tendering process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Network, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Manage and coordinate construction projects and prepare construction progress schedules.
• Prepare cost, statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project
• Monitor industry costs for materials and labour

$55,000.00 to $65,000.00/year
