Crew Member

Hammond Design & Landscape Ltd. is looking for solid crew members who aren’t afraid of hard work, getting dirty, or learning how to build things properly. We are a hardscape-focused landscape design and build company based out of Oshawa, Ontario, specializing in high-quality residential projects using stone, wood, and concrete. We care about craftsmanship and doing the job right the first time — not rushing through projects just to get to the next one. Pay Range: $24 – $35 per hour based on experience What You’ll Be Doing: • Assisting with landscape construction including interlock, retaining walls, natural stone, carpentry features, grading, and planting • Following direction from Lead Hands (they’re there to help you succeed, not babysit) • Moving materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently • Helping prep jobsites including excavation, base prep, and cleanup • Keeping jobsites clean, organized, and safe • Learning new skills and construction techniques (we build real projects, not just shovel dirt around) What We Need From You: • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly — this is construction, not a desk job • Punctual and reliable — if “running late” is your personality trait, this probably isn’t the role for you • Comfortable working outdoors in real Canadian weather (yes, even when it’s not Instagram-worthy) • Ability to take direction, work as part of a team, and keep a good attitude • Reliable transportation to get to jobsites • Willingness to learn quickly and take pride in your work • Commitment to working in a smoke-free environment Bonus Points If You: • Have landscape or construction experience • Know your way around basic construction tools • Want to build skills and grow in the trade instead of just punching a clock What You Get: • Competitive pay based on experience • Bonus opportunities • A crew that works hard but keeps things enjoyable • Consistent, high-quality projects (we’re not a mow-and-go company) • Opportunity to grow and learn valuable construction skills If you’re someone who shows up, works hard, and wants to be part of a team that builds projects the right way, we’d like to hear from you.
