About the Role
Do you have hands-on experience with trees, shrubs, perennials, or container-grown stock—and want to move into sales and marketing?
Ferguson Tree Nursery is seeking an energetic Sales & Marketing Coordinator to drive our brand presence and sales growth, lead customer relationships, manage marketing activities, and oversee our Outlet Store. This role blends horticulture knowledge with sales, marketing, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
• Prepare customer quotes, invoices, and follow up on sales opportunities
• Process inbound sales orders, including order entry, inventory allocation, invoicing, and delivery/pickup scheduling
• Pursue outbound sales and develop new client relationships
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, newsletters, and in person
• Coordinate customer pick ups, shipping and deliveries
Marketing
• Assist with development and execution of the Marketing Plan and comprehensive multichannel marketing campaigns across digital platforms, including social media, email, and print advertising.
• Create and update content for print materials, website, and collaborate on social media
• Coordinate advertising placements and attend trade shows
• Conduct market research to identify target audiences, competitor activities, and emerging industry trends to inform marketing tactics.
• Assist in budgeting processes for marketing campaigns while ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Outlet Store Supervision
• Lead setup and takedown of the Outlet Store
• Coordinate plant and non-plant inventory with Nursery Operations
• Merchandise products and maintain store cleanliness
• Care for plant stock (watering, weeding, replenishing)
• Deliver exceptional customer service and product guidance
• Operate point-of-sale system and process customer payments

Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Horticulture or Forestry, Sales and Marketing or 3–5 years of related experience
• Good knowledge of native trees, shrubs, and perennials
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience with advertising sales processes, including prospecting clients and developing tailored proposals.
• Organized with strong attention to detail and time management
• Excellent research skills combined with strong copywriting abilities for compelling content development.
• Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
• Website/CMS, Canva, Mailchimp, NetSuite experience an asset
• Self-motivated, creative, and eager to learn
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg
• Class G driver’s license
• Health & Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
• English/French bilingual preferred

Compensation & Benefits
• $22–25/hour to start (based on experience), with 3-month review
• $150 boot/clothing allowance

Schedule
• Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
• Additional hours and Saturdays required during peak seasons:
o April–May (6 weeks)
o Late August–September (3 weeks)
o Occasional trade shows

Education:
College/Technical Training or Trades Certificate,
Skills & Professional Training
Driver's License - G, Clean Driving Record
Sales and customer service experience
Microsoft Office proficiency
Website/CMS, Mailchimp, Canva, Netsuite an asset
Ability to lift up to 25 Kg
Compensation
$22.00 to $25.00/hour
